Love Your Neighbor
Jesus replied, ‘”You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.'” Matthew 22:37-39
During tragedy or crisis, the question we should be asking ourselves in the moment should be “How am I loving my neighbor?”
Prayerfully ask God what loving your neighbor looks like for you. It may be checking in on a literal neighbor or someone you work with who is feeling overwhelmed or afraid to leave their home. It may be volunteering with an organization to multiply your impact. It may be checking in on someone you know who is a first responder or a National Guard member who may be carrying their own kind of stress and worry.
If you feel led to volunteer somewhere or give financially, below are organizations that Crossroads has worked with in the past. They are trusted, and doing meaningful work in our community.
May our love for our neighbor point people to Jesus.
